Job Description: Job Description: The Deputy Project Manager under direct supervision of project manager will plan, implement, and supervise of all technical activities of SEHAT-III/ BPHS project in Badghis province. In addition, he will have to closely oversee performances of technical units including BPHS all components and CME/CHNE schools and also provides assistances to project manager in planning and budgeting of major activities. Acts in accordance with HEWAD-AYSO policies and procedures and keeps confidential with issues related to organizations. Develops spirit of cooperation and understanding among members of the team. Plans, implements, and supervises of all technical activities of Badghis BPHS/SEHAT-III project. Assists project manager in planning and budgeting of major activities. Closely oversees performances of technical units including HMIS, CBHC, RH, EPI, Capacity Building, CDC, Mental Health & Disability, Pharmacy, Nutrition staff and course coordinator of CME and CHNE schools. Meets all officers to discuss program progress and problems on a weekly basis. Works closely with program officers, and project manager for the program development. Assists program supervisors and program officers in the planning and implementation of the program. Leads subordinates in effective and timely completion of their assignments. Assists the in charges of health facilities in the development of the clinic activities’ plan. Regularly supervise/monitors the performance of health facilities to ensure the project activities match with BPHS requirements. Ensures availability of MoPH policy documents and guidelines at the relevant health facilities Ensures that clinic based staff are provided with regular feedbacks and recommendations forwarded to the field office. Takes active part in any epidemiological activity at the provincial level. Regularly supervise/monitors CME and CHNE affairs. Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly report of project activities to Project Manager. Follows HEWAD-AYSO policies, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiative works/ performance. Conducts need assessment for medical and non-medical equipment/materials and accordingly takes actions for timely procurement of required equipment and materials for the project. Identify the problems and make decision for timely solving the problems which negatively affect the project implementation and provides report to the project manager. Monitor and supervise progress of the health program. Work closely with the capacity development officer, course coordinators of CME/CHNE schools and Master trainers for the assessment, planning and implementing the capacity building and educational programs. Actively participates in all relevant coordination meetings with MoPH, community members, UN and other NGOs. Timely preparedness and response to outbreaks if occurred in the project impact areas in coordination with CDC PPHD. Plays active role in staffing activities of the project. Maintains an effective communication mechanism with all stakeholders at the provincial level. Organize joint monitoring from HFs. Review the monthly action plan of the technical staff and ensure the progress of the implementation of their action plan. Conduct performance appraisal of the technical staff on annual basis. Facilitate the monitoring team of GCMU during their monitoring from HFs and ensure the complete implementation of the monitoring recommendations and meet the deadlines. Ensure all the planned technical coordination meetings in provincial level are attended. Do whatever jobs delegated by supervisors.
