The Facility Condition Assessors will be responsible for conducting condition assessments for the equipment and variety of Afghan Army building types - administrative, warehouses, medical, educational, research facilities, support facilities and expeditionary outposts and others. This position requires 65% travelling and 35% office based.

These roles are offered either part time or full time.

Job Description:

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct condition assessment and identify the different equipment and components of a building including sub-components
  • Undertake appropriate corrective action when deficiencies and needed repairs are observed
  • Implement quality control processes on collected data and verifies accuracy
  • Prepare summary report written both in English and Dari
  • Input the condition scores into the Afghanistan Infrastructure Data Integration System (AIDIS) both in English and Dari
  • Work with team members and deal with customers in a positive manner

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or relevant field of study
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in facility operations or building trades, 2 years in conducting facility condition assessment
  • Certifications in any of the following, preferred: Building Maintenance and Operations, Facility Management Professional, Certified Facility Manager, Engineer-In-Training, Professional Engineer
  • Has detailed knowledge either in structural and roof systems or mechanical and electrical systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
  • Background in facilities operations and maintenance practices for Afghan National Army facilities, preferred
  • Can communicate in Dari and English
  • Must be an Afghan National and able to successfully pass a background check, an Afghan Identification Card
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs and sustain moderate physical activity to include walking and standing.
