Job Description: SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Project level To act as challenge TB representative/ community Based DOTS senior technical officer to follow the implementation of MoPH policies and strategies, national TB Guideline, SOPs in line with the End TB Strategy at National and provincial level. To facilitate the supervision, training, QRW, HRD/ACSM, TB IC, TB IS, Urban DOTS, monitoring and evaluation at national and provincial level together with NTP and other stakeholders. To manage the implementation of Community Based DOTS in 15 provinces ( Kabul, Ghazni, Paktika, Khost, Paktia, Herat, Faryab, Jowzjan, Bamyan, Baghlan, Takhar, Badakhshan, Nengarhar and Balkh). To provide technical leadership for CB-DOTs implementation. To coordinate and facilitate the Challenge TB expert mission. To assist Challenge TB Afghanistan country Director in the preparation of annual work plans and budgeting. To implement procedures / guideline of MSH (finance, HR, Security of staff, etc…) To participate and represents Challenge TB project at relevant international, national, regional or provincial level meeting, workshops and conferences. To assist the challenge TB team to prepare the relevant data analysis and reports. To strengthen the referral system, Sputum or slide sending system and other interventions related to work plan improving TB indicators in 15 provinces. To prepare mission report, weekly, monthly , quarterly and annual progress report of Community Based DOTs activities. To conduct operational research on community Based Dots and develop abstracts. To supervise the community based Dots technical officers and BPHS implements (sub-contractors) TB focal point in 6 provinces. Develop success stories once per quarter. To assists Challenge TB senior technical officers and M&E officers in the preparation of annual work plans and budgeting. Provincial level: To develop and maintain the appropriate network with NTP and partners. To strengthen and develop joint planning, implementation and follow up of activities with NTP and other partners on: TB IC, Urban DOTs, HRD/ ACSM, CB-DOTs, SOPs implementation, M&E and TB IS. To coordinate and facilitate the CTB expert mission. To provide managerial and technical assistance to provincial Technical officers, PPHO, BPHS implementers( sub-contractors). To conduct risk assessment at health facility level. To conduct regular CB-DOTs quarterly review with NTP/GCMU/CBHC, BPHS implementers and other stakeholders. To conduct several trips to provinces for supervision, M&E. To carry out any other related tasks assigned by CTB country director based on the need of project work plan.
