Job Description: General Duties Implement and maintain IRC standard security and communications systems and procedures. Provide technical support and advice to security guards and other security staff Monitor and report on security developments and trends Supervise security and communication personnel Conduct training and development activities in accordance with needs and concerns Actively coordinate and contribute to information exchange both internally and externally Work towards the achievement of IRC goals in Afghanistan through effective managerial and lateral relations and teamwork. Ensure understanding of roles, responsibilities, lateral relationships and accountabilities. Constant monitoring of all assigned IRC channels and if needed with UN and other NGOs at that particular site. Monitoring of convoys en route from one location to another. Security & Communications Systems Assess and maintain security and communications in IRC facilities in consultation with management, civil authorities, and technical experts. Facilitate proper use and maintenance of common communications, including HF and VHF radio networks and other communication technologies. Ensure all assigned communications equipment and systems are fully functioning. Notification to IRC management of any and all irregularities or incidents in any way related to the security of IRC staff or property Report on situational developments, risks, and concerns. Establish, maintain, and/or facilitate links with existing incident reporting system(s) within field office. Between organizations. Professional development, such as taking part in internal and external trainings. Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
