Job Description: Literacy Project Team Leader Assistant is assigned to assist the Literacy Project Team Leader for successful implementation of the literacy courses in the field; the Literacy Project Team Leader Assistant is responsible for one province and his/her role is to bridge between the literacy classes activities and Literacy Project Team Leader who is responsible for the whole literacy project at the central level. Communicate the project objectives and activities with relevant authorities (ministry of education and ministry of economy) to prepare the ground for mobilization and starting the project activities at provincial level. To prepare and conduct the kick off workshop at provincial level for the involved literacy staff. To conduct the literacy survey for selection of literacy learners, literacy classes and potential teaching staff (literacy teachers and supervisors). Organize the literacy teacher and supervisor training workshop at provincial level. Distribution of teaching plan for supervisors and insure the plans are implemented and followed accordingly in the field. Monitoring of the literacy classes on regular bases, and accompany the visitors from government and donors to the project field. Make sure reporting to the government is done accordingly based on the requirements of the ministry of education and ministry of economy. Regular meetings with local authorities to insure project activities are reported on regular bases, problems and challenges are discussed and solved with them. Conduction of weekly and monthly meetings with supervisors and teachers to discuss project progress, challenges, problem with solutions and to distribute the salaries and stationaries for the literacy classes. Prepare monthly progress report and submit to the project manager. Approval of the request forms for the purchases of goods needed for the project activities.
