Job Description: Responsibilities: The successful candidate should implement, with a professional national and international legal team, the Programme’s strategy. Specific tasks of the Programme Officers, inter alia, and not limited to, are: Respecting the Islam and Islamic values. Considering Afghan traditions. Closely and respectfully cooperating at regional level with the line departments of Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Interior, the Attorney General’s Office, the Supreme Court, the Afghan National Police, the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, the Ministry of Higher Education and other partners Supporting to develop and implement strategies in the area of Huqooq, Legal Aid and building legal capacity of Gender Focal Points Closely and respectfully cooperating at Provincial and District level with Imams, Justice Directorates, primary and secondary Courts, Prosecutors, Elders, Shuras, Shirgas, Huquqs, barristers,Gender Focal Point, Madrasses law students and other law actors to improve access to justice, professional efficiency and fair conflict resolution. General Tasks Promoting legal awareness, designing and implementing media campaigns. Supporting legal aid to Afghan civil society and especially vulnerable persons. Organizing or providing legal training. Advising and guiding citizens who seek legal help. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of all activities. Assuring proper documentation of all activities. Applying GIZ regulations to all activities. Representing GIZ legal positions in meetings. Editing and proof reading of legal books. Translating meetings and documents from English to Dari and from Dari to English. Closely and respectfully cooperating at local level with the Afghanistan Independent Bar Association; Updating the Development Tracking System for the project’s activities . In coordination with the M & E Officer, updating indicators, baselines and target values. Developing, monitoring and updating the Operational Plan and liaising with RoL’s provincial offices accordingly. Attending donor coordination meetings in the Rule of Law Sector and related working group meetings. Analyzing the institutional development and capacity building needs of national partners; Developing conceptual and financial action plan for addressing needs of the national partners; Supporting to develop and implement strategies in the area of law, legal aid and building legal capacity of justice institutions and law students; Organizing or providing legal training for justice Institutions and university students; Ensuring compliance of activities with mandates given by the commissioning partners; Represent GIZ in meetings when needed Any other tasks assigned by GIZ RoL management in competence with his/her field of works.
